Social networks, and why they still exist
Social networks are everywhere: the media talks about them, parents complain about them, and hundreds of thousands of people use them every day. So what is it about these sites which make them so compelling? Why is it that people have welcomed, and continue to welcome them as part of their lives?
Private vs public
First off, I think it is wrong to think of social networks as a single phenomena. There is huge variation in the functionality offered by such sites, and to regard them as one would be making a mistake: different functionality = a different reason for existence.
Is Talent Genetic?
Every day we see people do amazing things. Talented, we call these people, but what is talent?
